Our client is Australia’s number one manufacturer of quality ethanol products, with a thriving export trade to the Asia pacific region. As well as producing their own products, they distribute a range of chemicals and specialty ingredients and make an environmentally responsible fertilizer from ethanol fermentation.
They currently have an opportunity for a suitably experienced Safety, Health & Environment Advisor to join their team.
This exciting opportunity will be available for a fixed term basis of 5 months. Reporting to the HSE Manager, this position will be a predominantly hands on role which will see you responsible for assisting with the ongoing management of site safety systems and procedures for this exciting project.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Assisting with developing and implementing appropriate safety, occupational health and environment systems and documentation
- Undertaking regular safety audits and inspections
- Investigating and reporting on hazards, near misses, incidents and injuries
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Contributing to our safety focused culture through the provision of health, safety and environment information and guidance, including medical and emergency response issues.
- Coaching employees, supervisors, managers and other personnel in relation to SH&E processes
- Acting as initial point of contact in relation to SH&E dispute resolution
- Audit contractor compliance with SH&E management plans, process and systems.
- Coordinating hygiene related audits/assessments – noise mapping, asbestos etc
- Supporting and where required delivering relevant SH&E training and inductions
- Developing and maintaining associated project/facility procedures
- Coordinating regular maintenance, inspection and testing of fire system
YOU WILL NEED:
- Significant experience and qualifications in SH&E
- Experience working in a similar high risk environment
- Good communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences
- Current First Aid certificate
- Proven commitment to safety
- Knowledge of safety management systems
